Petite chateau is positioned just off the main coast road between carcassonne and narbonne with plenty of parking space to the front and back of the house. From the house it is a short walk from a well stocked supermarket a bar , bakers post office and the main mairie square. There is a newsagent, pharmacy two restaurants and a sandwich cafe. For anyone who likes wine there are a couple of wine caves in the village. Capendu has its own public indoor swimming pool. Into the house that has been newly renovated and completely refurbished throughout, combining some of the old original features such as the front entrance doors, windows and shutters and vaulted downstairs ceilings. The most interesting feature being the wooden spiral staircase leading up through a turret onto the beautiful roof terrace. The location of the house is an ideal base for exploring what the languedoc region has to offer. You have walking in the hills and vineyards the canal du midi 2km away medieval city of carcassonne and numerous abbeys and castles dotted about. There are nearby swimming lakes with man made beaches and water sports and the beaches of the mediterranean are within an hours drive away. The nearby cities of narbonne montpellier bezier and toulouse are easily reached by a short drive. This area has a good climate for outdoor activities such as cycling, fishing, tennis and golfing. There are ten golf courses within ninety minutes the nearest being carcassonne golf just fifteen minutes away.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Capendu in the Petit Chateau. The house was extremely clean, beds were comfortable and kitchen well equipped. Loved having the dishwasher! Andy was great to deal with and although we had a problem with the hot water he worked hard to resolve it quickly. Capendu was a great base to explore Carcassonne and the surrounding area.

Summary: We loved staying at Petite Chateau. The owners were quick to confirm our booking and all the arrangements for keys were sent promptly, including detailed directions from the airport . When we arrived, the place was exactly as described, and was furnished beautifully. The WIFI is very quick ! We spent mornings on the kitchen terrace and afternoons visiting a wealth of amazing places all within very easy reach . The view from the roof is wonderful ! Carcassonne, The medieval Cité, Toulouse (about 45 mins), Canal du Midi and Lac de la Cavayère for adventure seekers, are all within a short drive. We had a ball. A restaurant and bar just over the road for the evenings - holiday perfection !

Summary: We have just returned from a very enjoyable 10 days at Petite Chateau, the accommodation was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The roof terrace is perfect for catching the sun. The property is ideally located to explore the Languedoc region, we particularly enjoyed visiting the towns and villages along the canal du midi.

Summary: The house has everything you could possibly require for your stay. Rooms are very well conditioned and comfortable, and the terrace with the breeze in the evening was fantastic. Andy and Chris were accommodating and lovely hosts. Village has a few shops, but recommend hotel across the road for the restaurant.

Summary: Firstly we would like to thank Andy and Chris for the help and information given to us beforehand which proved invaluable. We were extremely impressed with the house and the outside space to the extent that most evenings were spent barbecuing and drinking the excellent wine from the wine cave down the road. The roof terrace was perfect for sunbathing during the day. A most enjoyable holiday in a picturesque and tranquil village with friendly locals. The city of Carcassonne, the nearby canal du midi and the beaches of Languedoc and Russillon, particularly Le Franqui, were all well worth the visits. Overall a tastefully furnished property in a great location.

Summary: Our overall impression of this property was that it was comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean. Very rare to get three out of three but you do here. A lot of thought has gone into making this home special, thank you Andy & Chris for making it so. Capendu is a lovely village, and after acquainting ourselves with the surrounding area, we felt very much at home here. Two weeks went by in a flash, and we enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Summary: The house is located in a very interesting region surrounded by vineyards, with plenty of opportunity for wine tastings. Good road access to the Narbonne coast, and medieval towns and villages, access to the Canal du Midi is within walking distance. Let petite Chateau is a wonderful house full of character with all the rooms absolutely immaculate, Andy and Chris have thought of everything for a perfect welcoming holiday. Summary: What a beautiful little house with its sunny roof terrace. Chris and Andy couldn't have been more helpful given three days notice of me wanting to visit.They even let me arrive a day early. The interior was beautifully renovated and well-equipped; close to shops etc. The area was near to little mediaeval villages and the Canal du Midi. Five stars from me! Thank you. Summary: What a wonderful house in prime position for exploring the many places of interest in the area. We have visited this area a number of times and stayed North of Carcassonne but we really felt the benefit of being East which allowed us to get to our favourite places much quicker. Access to the major roads in the area is so convenient. The village itself is impressive with all the facilities you need to enjoy a holiday , swimming pool, wine tasting, good restaurants and small but friendly shops. The house is immaculate and the evenings spent on the roof terrace drinking the local wine will be long remembered. Thanks Andy and Chris for a great holiday

Summary: The location for Petite Chateau is in an exceptionally interesting region. Located close to Carcassonne with its outstanding medieval links, it is a must for anyone visiting the area. Also located near Narbonne, another interesting and vibrant city. The nearby Canal du Midi offers another interesting location and is one of the outstanding features of the region. A variety of trips on the canal can be accessed. Then there are numerous seaside locations on the Med and are easily accessed by good road networks. The countryside around also abounds with vineyards and lots of places to sample the local wines. So historically and geographically the region has lots to offer- Pyrenees Spain etc. Le Petite Chateau is a superb place of residence that has to be experienced. It has so much character and the fittings and decor of all the rooms add up to a place that deserves respect, and a feeling of being at home. This is a place that made us feel comfortable and also very special.
